LocalMotion Lab is a choreographic platform based in Montreal, showcasing the work of seven established choreographers of diverse dance backgrounds led by choreographer and dancer Eva Kolarova.
LocalMotion Lab arose after noticing many incredibly talented independent choreographers here in Montreal eager to present their work however underrepresented due to the difficulties of self production and instability of relying solely on dance presenters.
LocalMotion Lab is a platform for choreographers, to present dance work of 15 - 20 minutes, within a supportive, inspiring environment, benefiting from LocalMotion Labs feedback and wide range of experiences. Artistic choices are left up to each creator and with the support of the group where we share equal responsibility with no limitations placed artistically on the work presented.
After much thought Espace Danse in the Wilder building in the heart of Quartiers des Spectacles was selected as the appropriate venue for our endeavour of offering to the public of a bouquet of seven different universes by choreographers:
Eva Kolarova, Victoria May, Erin Flynn, Kyra Jean Green, Janelle Hacault, Jason Martin and Greg Selinger.
